Case Study

Resident App Redesign

For new residents, I improved the process for signing up for the community amenities app as well as a full Redesign to update the look and feel while improving usability. We removed a lengthy, complicated log in process that caused users to abandon registration by utilizing geolocation capabilities.

The problem

A clunky registration process that required too many steps discouraged new users from completing setup. We needed to rework signup to make it faster, simpler, and without losing key user data. These residents would miss important notifications about certain services, such as trash collection or other maintenance, if they could not sign up.

Outcome & impact

Users no longer had to enter as much information in order to view their amenities after the redesign. Using the map feature, they could find their community, select it, then create a user name or continue as a guest to access the services.

The overall redesign was well recepted by the end users, stating it was a nice change of look and feel, and was much easier to find your way around the app.
